Abstract

Hill Climbing Algorithm (HCA) is a heuristic optimization based on the searching style of a hillclimber. HCA is a simple technique and can find the optimum solution. In this study, HCA is applied todevelop for determining the optimum mix proportion of ground bottom ash with different particle sizesin concrete. Compressive strengths of concrete were determined at the ages of 7, 28, 90, and 180 days. From the result, the HCA can be used to determine mix proportion of concrete containing ground bottomash. Furthermore, it can save time to design the mix proportion of concrete and obtain the minimum cost.
