Noise Level in Dormitories Near Entertainment Venue Around Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen Province, Thailand

The objective of this survey research was to study noise level at dormitories (dorms) near entertainment venue around Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen Province, Thailand. The checking of noise level was done at 8 dorms, one spot at each dorm, each spot for 7 days, and collecting data average one-hour noise level during 7 P.M.-midnight. The findings of the study: On Fridays, noise level behind Khon Kaen University was at 52.8-70.2 decibel A, whose average one-hour noise level was higher than at University’s south gate at 57.3-64.3 decibels A. The high level was during 11 P.M.-midnight. About nuisance level for the checking on Mondays-Sundays, The highest nuisance level was at Dorm A on Mondays, at Dorm B on Tuesdays-Thursdays, and at Dorm C on Friday-Sunday. The value of nuisance level checked at all dorms exceeded the standard declared by the National Environment Committee:it should not exceed 10 decibels A.
