Critical Success Factors and Organizational Safety Culture Affecting The Risk Management of Professional Nurses at Inpatient Department Khon Kaen Hospital

This cross- sectional descriptive research aimed to study the level of risk management, critical success factors and organizational safety culture affecting the risk management of the professional nurse at inpatient department Khon Kaen Hospital, Thailand. The sample were 134 registered nurses and randomly selected by stratified random sampling from the 754 populations and 12 key informants were in In- Depth Interview for qualitative data gathering. The questionnaire was tested for reliability with Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient from the total parts that was at 0.98. Data distribution was performed by descriptive statistics, Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple linear regression were also utilized for the inferential statistics. The results showed that the critical success factors, organizational safety culture and the risk management of professional nurses at Khon Kaen Hospital were at high level with averages 3.84 (S.D.= 0.44), 3.80 (S.D.= 0.47) and 3.60 (S.D.= 0.50), respectively. Change management process and Communication effectively hospital organizational safety culture and department organizational safety culture could joint predict the risk management of professional nurse at Khon Kaen Hospital at 67.8 percentage (R2=0.678, p-value<0.001). The results of this research, manager can be used to plan in creating guidelines for promoting risk management in the organization to be more effective.
