Personal Characteristics and Administrative Factors Affecting the Dependent Elderly Care Performance of Local Nurturing Volunteers in Buriram Province

This cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to study personal characteristics and administrative factors affecting the dependent elderly care performance of local nurturing volunteers in Buriram province, Thailand. The samples of 181 people were randomly selected using stratified random sampling techniques from 401 local nurturing volunteers in Buriram province. Data was collected using a questionnaire for quantitative data that were examined and verified by three experts for the content validity items objective congruence (IOC) all items were more than 0.50 with the Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.95, and the in-depth interview guidelines were used in 12 key informants for qualitative data gathering. The results showed that the overall of administrative factors and the dependent elderly care performance of local nurturing volunteers in Buriram province were at a high level. Three factors composed of the administrative factors in management; personnel management factors and income from personal characteristics affected and could jointly predict the dependent elderly care performance of local nurturing volunteers in Buriram province at 25.2 percentage. (R2 = 0.252, p-value < 0.001). Most of the problems and obstacles was the material aspects of administrative factors, accounting for 55.56 percent.
