Perception on Symptomatic Venereal Diseases and Health Seeking Behavior of Female Commercial Sex Workers with Suspected Symptomatic Venereal Diseases in Khon Kaen Municipality (การรับรู้อาการกามโรคและพฤติกรรมการแสวงหาการรักษาพยาบาลเมื่อมีอาการสงสัยว่

Abstract

This cross sectional descriptive stud y aims to explore the perception on symtomatic venereal diseases (SYD) and health seeking behaviors of female commercial sex workers (FCSWs) with suspected SYD in Khon Kaen Municipality. Data were collected by interviewing a sample of 74 FCSWs with suspected SYD within last six months, working in the entertainment places such as massage parlors, traditional massage places, karaoke and beer shops in Khon Kaen Municipality. The finding showed that 87.8% of the samples percieved on having SYD. 81.5% of the samples percieved up to three symptoms. Three leading percept ion of SYD were vaginitis, abnormal leukorrhea, and pelvic pain. Highest percentage of FCSWs (43.8%) sought treatment from the Center for Venereal Diseases (VD) and AIDS Control, Region 6. Suggestions from the finding are that the managers of the entertainment places and health officers should take serious on providing advises to FCSWs concerning self -care and self -medication.

การวิจัยเชิงพรรณนาแบบตัดขวางเพื่อศึกษาการรับรู้อาการกามโรคและพฤติกรรมการแสวงหาการรักษาพยาบาลเมื่อมีอาการสงสัยว่าจะเป็นกามโรค ศึกษาในกลุ่มตัวอย่างหญิงบริการทางเพศในเขตเทศบาลนครขอนแก่นที่มีอาการสงสัยว่าจะเป็นกามโรคในรอบ 6 เดือน ที่ผ่านมา จากสถานบริการ อาบอบนวด นวดแผนโบราณ บาร์เบียร์และคาราโอเกะ จำนวน 74 คน โดยการสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึก ผลการศึกษาพบว่ากลุ่มตัวอย่างหญิงบริการทางเพศในเขตเทศบาลนครขอนแก่น รับรู้อาการกามโรคมากถึงร้อยละ 87.8 รับรู้ 1-3 อาการร้อยละ 81.5 อาการสำคัญ 3 อาการแรก คือ คันช่องคลอด ตกขาวผิดปกติ และปวดท้องน้อย เมื่อมีอาการสงสัยว่าจะเป็นกามโรค ส่วนใหญ่รักษา 1 ขั้นตอน แหล่งรักษาที่เลือกมากที่สุด คือ ศูนย์กามโรคและโรคเอดส์ เขต 6 ขอนแก่น ร้อยละ 43.8 ข้อเสนอแนะ คือ ควรให้ความสำคัญกับผู้จัดการสถานบริการ และให้คำแนะนำ คำปรึกษา แก่หญิงบริการทางเพศในการดูแลตนเองอย่างถูกต้อง
