Adoption of Supplier Development Activity to Enhance Efficiency: A Case Study of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing Company

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the enhancing of efficiency of supply chainmanagement by adopting supplier development program. The agricultural machinery manufacturingcompany was selected as a case study. Data of production monthly report during 2001 › 2004, whichthe program has been implemented, was analyzed. The results from ANOVA and Pair-test show thatefficiency of supply chain management (such as manufacturing capability, degree of quality problemsat suppliersû site, number of customer claim, parts delivery performance, and defects) could beincreased by adopting the supplier development program called Quality Assurance Networking.Recommendations in implementing of this program are also suggested for interested companies.
