The Study of Factors Component Relating to Road Accidents

Abstract

Road Accident Situation in Thailand is an extreme problem. There are many ways to solve this problemfollowing through the understanding and experience of the policy planners. Somehow, these do not exactlyrelevant to the cause of the problem. This study was carried out in order to analyze the factors relating to theaccident and the severity of road accident. First, the factors that relate to road accident were collected fromvarious documents and researches. Then, the groups of factor were categorized. And some data were collecteddirectly from the person who had the road accident experience using the questionnaires.

From the results of this study, the factors relating to the road accident were categorized into 4 groups:human, vehicle, road and environment factor. And human is the highest factor affecting the road accident(95.62%). The second rank is the vehicle factor with 27.54% and the road and environment factor is the bottomrank with 21.56%. So the additional policy issue that could reduce the severity of road accident is the emphasison the driver behavior.
