A Study of Environmental Factors Relate to Willingness of KMlTT Personnel to Become University Officers

Abstract

The present research focused on the change of status of KMITT. It aimed to study (1) environmental factors in the institute, (2) the desire of new university model and willingness of KMITT personnel to become university officer, (3) relationship among selected factors and their impact on the decision of the officers.

The sample consisted of 283 government officers of KMITT. The data were collected by questionnaire. The reliability of each aspect was between 0.7 4 to 0.8 5. The data were analyzed by using SPSS/pc+

The finding on environment factors were that women had more mean score of will ingnesson administration than men. Those from various faculties had different willingness on aspects of administration, morale, budget payment and benefit. There were no differences significantly on mean of achievement motivation and sense of responsibility between men and women. Officer sunder the age of 34 years had more mean score of achievement motivation than those above.

There was no difference significantly on aspects of willingness of KMITT personnel to become university officer. However, those with administrative positions had higher mean of decision to be out of the government system than those without administrative position. As the whole, it fell under uncertain category o(= 2.87).

Correlation between decision of the officers and the desire of new university model was positive (r =0.58) Some various predict factors which had significant positive correlation were between .42 to .53

The predict equation could explain the decision 37 percents.
