Critical Success Factors and Motivation Affecting the Performance of Dental Health Officers at Sub-District Health Promoting Hospitals in Khon Kaen Province

This cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to study the critical success factors and motivation affecting the performance of dental health officers at sub-district health promoting hospitals in Khon Kaen Province, Thailand. The samples were 112 dental health officers randomly selected by simple random sampling from the 128 population and 12 key informants were in focus group for qualitative data gathering. Data distribution was performed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics include Pearson’s product moment correlation and Stepwise multiple linear regressions were also utilized. The results showed three variables of motivation; personal life, responsibility and working condition and one key critical success factors; connection between sup-district health promoting hospitals team and host hospitals could predict the performance of dental health officers at sub-district health promoting hospitals in Khon Kaen province at 61.9 percentage. (R2 = 0.619, p-value < 0.001). By this research the public health agency can be used to plan to improve the performance of dental health officers at sub-district health promoting hospitals.
