Abstract

This cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to study personal characteristics and motivation affecting the continuous quality improvement of registered nurses at community hospitals in Chaiyaphum province, Thailand. The samples were 189 registered nurses randomly selected by stratified random sampling from the 1,174 populations. Data was collected by questionnaire for quantitative data, and 14 key informants were used In-depth interview guideline for qualitative data gathering. Data analysis was performed by descriptive and inferential statistics as significant level at 0.05. The results showed that overall of the motivation and the continuous quality improvement were at high level. The results showed that five variables of hygiene factors; policy and administration, interpersonal relationship, working condition, job security and personal life were affecting and could joint predict the continuous quality improvement of registered nurses at community hospitals in Chaiyaphum province at 69.9 percentage (R2=0.699, p-value<0.001).
