Abstract

This study aimed to explore behaviors related to oral health and factors related to good oral health care behaviors among dental care service receivers in Maria Teresa hospital of Vientiane Province, Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The volunteers are 363 aged 19 – 59 years. The systematic sampling was performed. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The association between factors and good oral health behavior were determined by using the multiple logistic regression analysis. The results showed that the samples had good oral health care behavior with 63.4%. They had knowledge of oral health care at low level with 75.8%, moderate to good attitude towards oral health care levels with 89.8%, and moderate to good food and beverage consumption behavior levels with 91.4%. The samples had moderate to good levels of knowledge associated with good oral health care behaviors were 2.21 times (95% CI =1.26 - 3.88) comparing to those had low levels of knowledge. Therefore, the promoting of correct knowledge oral health care is an important to having good oral health care behavior.
