Abstract

This cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to investigate the administrative factors and key success factors affecting infectious waste management performance during the situation of coronavirus 2019 pandemic of public health personnel at sub-district health promoting hospitals in Khon Kaen province. A set of 154 health personnel were selected by systematic random sampling technique from 248 of population. The research instrument was a questionnaire which was validated by 3 experts for content validity. All items had an Item Objective Congruence greater than 0.50 and the reliability of the questionnaire was Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.99. And used in-depth interview guidelines from 12 key informants for a qualitative data gathering. The data was collected between November 1st, 2022 and November 30th, 2022. Statistics used to analyze data were descriptive statistics  and inferential statistics, with a significance level  of 0.05. The results revealed that the overall administrative factors, the Key success factors and the operation of infectious waste management at a high level with a mean of 3.93 (S.D.=0.67), 3.97 (S.D.=0.72) and 3.04(S.D.=0.61), respectively. the overall of administrative factors and key success factors had a moderate relationship with the infectious waste management (r=0.653, p-value<0.001) and (r=0.696, p-value<0.001) respectively, and three variables consistes of one of key success factors for executives at all levels support and two of administrative factor ; time and follow up; and the linkage between sub-district health promoting hospitals and major linkage hospitals were effected and could  jointly predicted the performance in the situation of the coronavirus 2019 pandemic among public health officials in sub-district health promoting hospitals, Khon Kaen at 58.3% (R2=0.583).
