A Study on Teacher Profession and Computer Education Major Competencies of Pre-Service Teachers: Case Study of Faculty of Education, Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University

Abstract

This research is aim to study the teacher profession and computer education major competencies of pre-service teacher students in computer education major at the Faculty of Education, Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University. The sample group was 122 pre-service teacher students in computer education major. The data collection were used the competencies questionnaire for surveying. Mean, Percentage, and Standard Deviation were used to summarize the outcomes.

The research finding were: 1) the overall of competencies was in good level, 2) focusing in each competencies, there were teacher profession competencies lower than computer education major competencies, 3) focusing in teacher profession competencies, there were high competencies on Morality/Virtue and Ethics followed by interpersonal relationship and responsibility respectively, and the lowest was knowledge competency, and 4) focusing in computer education major competencies, there were high level on Morality/Virtue and Ethics followed by interpersonal relationship and responsibility respectively, and the lowest was knowledge competency. The results will be used to develop learning methods activities, and appropriated projects for competency development in the near future.
