Moment Properties of Generalized Order Statistics from Exponentiated Generalized Class of Distributions

Abstract

Cordeiro (2013) introduced and studied the exponentiated generalized class of distributions. The two classes of Lahman’s (2013) alternatives is considered as special cases of this generalized class. In this paper a new exponentiated generalized class of distributions is proposed, which is slightly different from one given by Cardeiro et al. (2013). Moment properties of generalized order statistics in terms of recurrence relations are studied.  Further, examples based on some specific distributions are discussed. Results for order statistics and record values are deduced from the main result. In the end, characterization results based on recurrence relations and conditional moment are presented.
