Ethics in Publication

The editorial team of RIST Journal recognizes the paramount importance of ethical standards in publishing for authors, reviewers, and editors. These standards must be strictly adhered to in order to ensure that publications are ethical, transparent, and consistently of high quality. The aim is to maximize benefits to the public and all stakeholders across various sectors. Consequently, the following guidelines, practices, and ethical principles have been established for the operation of the journal:

Roles and Responsibilities of Authors:

  1. Authors must certify that the submitted article has never been published elsewhere and is not under consideration for publication in other journals or any other publication.
  2. Authors must refrain from presenting the work of others as their own, providing proper citations for external sources within a comprehensive and accurate reference list.
  3. The information reported by authors must be accurate and free from distortion or falsification.
  4. Authors must adhere to the journal's specified formatting guidelines.
  5. The names of both the main author and co-authors must accurately represent individuals who actively participated in the research.
  6. Authors receiving research funding must acknowledge the funding source supporting the entirety of the research.
  7. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and content of their articles, assuming sole responsibility in case of copyright infringement.
  8. Authors must accept the final judgment of reviewers and editors.
  9. Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest.

Roles and Responsibilities of Editors:

  1. Editors are responsible for assessing the quality of articles, ensuring alignment with the journal's objectives and scope.
  2. Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding the identity of article authors and evaluators during the evaluation period.
  3. Editors play a crucial role in selecting quality articles based on academic principles and the established evaluation procedures.
  4. Editors must not publish articles that have been previously published elsewhere.
  5. Editors are responsible for ensuring articles are free from plagiarism and must act promptly if plagiarism is detected, seeking clarification from the authors and deciding on publication accordingly.
  6. Editors must avoid conflicts of interest with authors and evaluators or any other individuals involved in publishing or article-related interests.
  7. Editors must uphold journal standards and continually work towards improving the quality of the journal.

Roles and Responsibilities of Reviewers:

  1. Reviewers should provide impartial and constructive opinions that contribute to the quality of the articles.
  2. During the evaluation period, reviewers must maintain confidentiality regarding articles and not disclose information to unrelated parties.
  3. Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest with article authors and promptly notify editors if they are involved or have a stake in the submitted articles.
  4. Reviewers should evaluate articles within their field of expertise and may decline to review articles outside their specialization.
  5. Reviewers play a role in identifying potential duplication of work by authors and must promptly notify editors if such issues are detected.
  6. Reviewers must not seek personal gain from the article evaluation process.
  7. Reviewers should adhere to the specified timeframe for evaluating articles set by the journal.
