Trapezoidal-Shaped Wide-Band Patch Antenna for WLAN at 5GHz Band Application
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper presents the trapezoidal-shaped wide-band patch antenna for WLAN at 5GHz band application. The antenna radiating patch is modified from square-shaped to trapezoidal-shaped for increasing the frequency bandwidth. The proposed antenna has small size, light weight, low profile and low complexity in its structure. The antenna is designed and fabricated on FR-4 substrate with dielectric constant of 4.3, thickness of 1.6 mm and the size of 29.35x29.35 mm2. The measured results of the proposed antenna are designed to obtain the reflection coefficient with lower than -10 dB from 4.9 GHz to 6 GHz. The antenna gains are 1.54 dBi, 1.7 dBi and 1.44 dBi, at 5.2 GHz, 5.5 GHz and 5.8 GHz, respectively.
