About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Thai Journal of Operations Research is an academic journal with the objective of dissemination of research works and academic articles on website. Its publication is biannual (approximately in June and December of every year).
The articles published in the journal consist of 2 types as follows:
1. Academic Paper: Critique or Review Paper
- Article that describes the development of the topic of the past operations research.
2. Research Paper
- Article that focuses on the application of knowledge or methodology of operations research to solve the existing problems in the public and the private sectors.
- Article that concentrates on the theory or methodology of operations research that is developed from the concept of the researcher or added from the former knowledge.
The articles are classified into one of the following headings:
- Continuous Optimization
- Discrete Optimization
- Stochastic Process and Statistics
- Simulation
- Heuristics and Meta-heuristics
- Production, Manufacturing and Logistics
- Decision Support in Manufacturing and Logistics
- Computational Intelligence in Manufacturing

- Academics, students, lecturers, in the public and private sectors.
Peer Review Process
- Every article must go through the consideration of three experts (as of July 2021).
- Concealment of the names of the author and of the assessors of the article (Double-Blind Review).

Journal History
Operations research is a subject on scientific method using the knowledge of arithmetic and logic in the study and process research in operation and coordination that helps in the decision of implementation and problem solving of various work systems of an organization in the world of business, industry, government agencies, and state enterprises to reach the best result in the operation of that particular organization. Operations Research Network or commonly known as “ORNET” is the network of academic cooperation with lecturers who teach, conduct research, and those interested in the field of operations research. The lecturers in this network come from 14 Faculties of Science, Engineering, Business Administration, and Applied Statistics of public universities. The major activity of the network is organizing the ORNET Conference which has been held annually for ten times and where a large number of lecturers, students, and researchers attend. The five attended lecturers from the Graduate School of Applied Statistics include Associate Professor Dr. Vichit Lorchirachoonkul, advisor, Associate Professor Dr. Patcharaporn Niammanee, member of steering committee and network coordinator, Assistant Professor Dr. Jugkarin Sukmok, Associate Professor Dr. Kannapha Amaruchkul, and Dr. Siwiga Dusadenoad. They are the academic board members of the network and participate in the network activities on a continuous basis. According to the meeting of network board members No. 1/2555 on Friday September 7, 2012, the meeting resolution approved the establishment of Thai Journal of Operations Research which was an E-Journal and recommended the
lecturers at the Graduate School of Applied Statistics, National Institute of Development Administration, as the main responsible persons. Therefore, the Graduate School of Applied Statistics produced the Journal Issue 1 Year 1 that was published and disseminated for the first time in June 2013 to promote the academic cooperation between the lecturers from the Graduate School of Applied Statistics and those from other network universities, enhance the experience of producing the journal for the lecturers and personnel, as well as provide the opportunity for the lecturers and students to publish more academic works. The Graduate School of Applied Statistics hosted or supported in part while the lecturers were the main responsible persons in producing the journal or serving as editor-in-chief.
