Abstract
Groundwater contamination problems become a major environmental problem everywhere. The lack of wastewater treatment in some swine farm is one of the possible sources of bacteria contamination in groundwater. Objective of this research was to study factors influencing the bacteria transport in groundwater. In this work, E.Coli was used in the laboratory study. Three types of soils; sand, loam and laterite were investigated as a porous media in a soil column. The results for the laboratory study in a soil column was found that the greater number of transporting E.Coli through soil column proportionate to the higher moisture content. However, this relationship was identified in only sand and sandy loam. The number of passing E.Coli through the sand was higher than the number of moving E.Coli through sandy loam at same moisture content conditions. While there was no E.coli detected in the laterite column at all samples of different moisture contents.
