Abstract

This research proposes a suitable design of reinforced concrete deep beams using bat-type search. The purpose of the research is to design a deep design according to the design standards of EIT 1008-38 that is economical. Optimized design procedures are created using Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 and design three examples of deep beam. The results candidate that the bat algorithm can be applied for the optimal design of reinforced concrete deep beams and obtains the optimum design results than the traditional method of 6.5%. Moreover, the bat algorithm obtains the optimum solution on every time when choosing the number of bat is greater than or equal to 150 and the maximum iteration number is greater than or equal to 80.
