Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Author Guidelines
Microscopy and Microanalysis Research – The Journal of The Microscopy Society of Thailand, is published original research articles from the entire interdisciplinary range of microscopy and microanalysis: new microscopy methods and instrumentation and their applications to biological or materials microstructures for determination of structure or chemistry. The areas of interest also include the application of microscopy and microanalysis on physical science, biological science and medical science. The development of microscopy and microanalysis techniques are also involved. Recommendation for the preparation of manuscript to be submitted for publication in Microsc. Microanal. Res. is as follows;
Scope.Original research articles must convey the novelty or the importance of the microscopy and microanalysis in the study. A wide range of fields are included in the scope of the journal, for instance; Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Anatomy, etc.
Manuscript Submission and Review.All manuscript submissions to Microsc. Microanal. Res. must be made electronically at the following website address: https://www.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/mmres.
The corresponding authors must register with the journal prior to submitting. If the author has already registered, just simply log in and begin the five-step submission process.
All necessary information, including the corresponding author's contact information, which includes complete mailing address and an e-mail address must be provided.
Corresponding author is requested to suggest TWO reviewers in cover letter, which is written in “Comments for Editor” session at the first step of the submission process.
Graphical Abstract, Figures and Table must be submitted separately from the context. One multimedia file can also be submitted.
Manuscript must meet all these requirements;
Once the submission is completed, all authors will be notified by an automatic email created from the website. The editor will first make a decision whether the manuscript is suitable for publication in Microscopy and Microanalysis Research – The Journal of The Microscopy Society of Thailand. Editor will assign the manuscript to TWO reviewers.
The corresponding author will get notification by e-mail once the reviewers complete their reviewing process. However, the corresponding author can login to the website in order to track your article status. The author may also put the request, inquiry or discuss with the Editor(s) on this website.
Manuscript Preparation
General information. Manuscripts must be submitted in English. Authors should follow generally accepted rules of grammar and punctuation. Because articles on microscopy attract broad ranges of readers with diverse backgrounds, jargon should not be used; acronyms and abbreviations must be clearly defined the first time they are used and then used consistently thereafter throughout the manuscript.
Format. All manuscripts must be typed double-spaced, including title page, abstract, text, references, tables, and figure legends, in 12-point type. Pages should have margins of about 1 inch (about 2.5 cm). Number all pages at the bottom.
All manuscript title pages must contain:
- A complete title.
- Authors' names listed by full given and last names.
- Primary institutions where the research was performed.
- Other institutions involved for each author.
Note: Institutional addresses must include the full institutional and department / center name, city, state, postal code, and country.
- Corresponding author's e-mail address.
All manuscripts must include:
- An abstract not to exceed 200 words and 6 to 10 key words for indexing.
- The manuscript should contain a complete study, which could be divided into several sessions. The manuscript must contain the important information on “Introduction”, “Methodology”, “Results”, “Discussion”, “Conclusion” and “References”. The Introduction must be kept general in order to introduce the field of interest to the readers, who are not familiar to the area. The Methodology must provide sufficient information of how the samples are prepared in order to be reproducible. The technical details of microscopy and microanalysis must also be given in this session. The Results and Discussion may be combined into a single section or presented separately. They may also be broken into subsections with short, informative headings.
Chemical names and mathematical expressions. Chemical names and methods should be spelled out the first time they are used, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. After first mention the abbreviation may be used alone. SI units should be used. Mathematical expressions need to be carefully presented, with all symbols defined. Use a type font that clearly differentiates between zero and capital letter O.
Table and Figure. Figures must be uploaded individually at the website. Figures should be professionally drawn and prepared. Figure captions and Table’s title must be in text document and submitted separately at the website. All tables and figures must be cited in the text as “Table x” and “Fig. x”, respectively.
References. Cited references in text in the order that they appear in the text. The reference must be cited as a number in square brackets (e.g. [1]). Two or more references at a time may be put in one set of brackets (e.g. [3,4], [2-4] or [2,5,6]). The references must be listed at the end of the manuscript in ACS style.
