Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) develop 2D animation media on ecotourism in Narathiwat Province for dissemination through the researcher’s Facebook and YouTube platforms; 2) evaluate the quality of the animation media; and 3) assess viewers’ satisfaction with the media. The research instruments included the 2D animation media, a media quality assessment form, and a viewer satisfaction questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were mean and standard deviation.

The research structure consisted of two parts: 1) the animation storyline, which presented a universal plot and employed a three-act structure to guide the narrative through characters and scenes, together with the use of camera angles and camera movements. Animation principles, color theory, and line theory were also applied using graphic, animation, sound, and video editing software; and 2) the media-supported game section, which was developed using game development software. The research findings revealed that viewers could watch the animation, which was approximately 12 minutes long, and interact with the media through two mini-games. The quality of the media, as evaluated by three experts in animation media and tourism information in Narathiwat Province, was overall at the highest level. In addition, the overall satisfaction of 30 viewers with the media was at the highest level.
