Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) develop a smart computer laboratory management system using Internet of Things (IoT) technology for real-time monitoring of environmental conditions and usage status; 2) evaluate the system performance by experts; and 3) assess user satisfaction. The prototype system was developed based on the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework. DHT22 and BH1750 sensors were connected to an Espressif Systems ESP32 board to collect data on temperature, humidity, and light intensity. Data were recorded every 30 minutes and continuously tested for five days, 24 hours per day, resulting in a total of 240 datasets for analyzing sensor accuracy and evaluating system operation.

The research findings revealed that the average sensor error ranged from 1.18% to 2.28%, which was within an acceptable range. The system was able to transmit data via a Wi-Fi network to the database and display the results through a web dashboard stably without data loss. The evaluation by three experts indicated that the overall system performance was at the highest level (equation = 4.73, S.D. = 0.45), while the satisfaction evaluation of 20 users was also at the highest level (equation = 4.68, S.D. = 0.47). These findings indicate that the developed system can improve the efficiency of laboratory management and can be practically applied in the context of educational institutions.
