Improvement Operational Process within Paper Manufacturing Business

Abstract
The objective of this research is to study and operation reduction in export process of paper manufacturing business because the manufacturer face delivery problem. The study process are (1) study entire delivery process which are receive purchase order, manufacturing planning, production, delivery from factory to local port, shown in chart. (2) Use statistical data, frequency of delivery data and frequency of backorder data (3) Find root cause of delivery problem (4) Brainstorming all implementer to improve new working method under ECRS technique are elimination, combination, rearrange and simplification (5) Applying the algorithm to work.
Study from total delivery 694 times, on-time delivery 76% before schedule delivery 3% and delivery not on time 21%. Classify as a problem of shipping 14%, land transport 5% and due to production problem 2%. The cause of shipping and land transport delivery problem is from arrange process which is confirm delivery date to customer before making contract with shipping and land transport. Both shipping and land transport vendor confirm transport schedule on their own made sometimes cannot preserve the transportation or sometimes delay from transportation process. Therefore, the new processes are after receiving finish goods confirmation then check transportation schedule and preserve before inform delivery date to the customer. After rearrange working process, the manufacturer can increase on-time delivery data and reduce average delivery time from 28 days to 25 days.
