Abstract
This research is purposed to analyze, improve and reduce defect caused by error of evaporator product production in automotive industry through applying Six Sigma approaches called DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analysis-Improve-Control) and Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) in order to analysis cause of defection by assessment of defect severity, defect opportunity, and defect detection evaluation and then calculate Risk Priority Number (RPN) to select cause and improve afterwards. Moreover, this research had utilized quality tools to assist cause analysis procedure in FMEA achieving, improvement and process quality control. After improvement, there was Risk Priority Number (RPN) evaluation and then compared defect data. The result has shown that evaporator product defect ratio can be reduced from 0.216% to 0.107% or 50.46% reduction.
