Abstract
The research aims to study effect of velocity gradient on treatment of concentrated latex wastewater by ASBR system. The cycle number of ASBR system was performed at 1-4 cycles at constant velocity gradient 60 sec-1 with organic loading rate 3 kg COD/(m3.d). The obtained results at steady state condition, for COD removal were found to be 77.91, 80.59, 82.97 and 85.22 %, respectively. Then, the velocity gradients of the system were varied to 40, 60, 80 and 100 sec-1.The obtained results at initial velocity gradient 60 sec-1 for system performance were found to be 77.91, 80.59, 82.97 and 85.22 %, respectively for COD; 42.32, 50.55, 59.08 and 67.66 %, respectively for sulfate; and also 86.21, 93.92, 94.4 and 96 %, respectively for suspended solid. By ASBR system the best removal performance for COD, sulfate and suspended solid. For biogas volume obtained were 336 mL/d, respectively and the obtained methane percentages in the gas were found to be 52.71% respectively.
