Development of Lateral Thinking Training Package for Creative Thinking of Bachelor’s Degree Students

Abstract

The objectives of this study were 1) to develop the lateral thinking training package for the creative thinking of bachelor’s degree students, 2) to compare the pretest and posttest scores of the students’ creative thinking after being trained by using the lateral thinking training package, and 3) to study the students’satisfaction on the training package. The samples were thirty-two bachelor’s degree students at North Bangkok University in the second semester of the academic year 2013. They were selected by purposive sampling method. The research instruments were 1) The lateral thinking training package for bachelor’ s degree students, 2) Performance evaluation forms, and 3) Questionnaires on students’ attitudes. The statistical devices used to analyze the data were efficiency values of E1/ E2, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test dependent. The results of the study revealed that 1) the efficiency values of the lateral thinking training package for the creative thinking of bachelor’ s degree students were 83. 96/ 80. 47, 2) the posttest scores of the students’ creative thinking were significantly higher than the pretest scores at .05 level of significance after being trained by the lateral thinking training package, and 3) the students’ satisfaction towards the lateral thinking training package was at the highest level ( =4.70).
