Abstract

This systematic review examines the transformative impact of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies on Human Resource Management (HRM), focusing on current trends, future possibilities, and challenges in the digital transformation of workforce management. By synthesizing findings from diverse research studies, this review illuminates the revolutionary potential of IoT in HR practices while acknowledging the complex landscape of its implementation. The study reveals how IoT adoption is reshaping core HR functions, driving data-driven decision-making and personalized employee experiences. A comprehensive taxonomy of IoT applications in HR is proposed, categorizing innovations across various dimensions. The review identifies critical factors influencing successful IoT integration, including technological readiness, organizational culture, and data governance. While highlighting the significant benefits of IoT in enhancing operational efficiency and strategic HR capabilities, the study also addresses challenges related to data privacy and ethical considerations. This review underscores the importance of a balanced approach to IoT adoption, emphasizing the need to maintain the 'human' element in HR amidst technological advancement, offering valuable insights for practitioners and researchers in the evolving field of digital HR.
