Tree distribution and diversity along sidewalks in roads of Nakhonratchasima City Municipality, Thailand
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study proposed the occurrence of trees’ distribution and diversity along sidewalks in roads of Nakohnratchasima City Municipality (NCM), Thailand. Google Street View (GSV) was used for checking before actual surveying-based web of ArcGIS123 survey and tally sheet (if internet is not work) from November 1, 2021 – January 31, 2022. Each sidewalk of NCM roads was plotted by sampling in every 1 km. to measure tree. The surveyed data was converted to excel program for tree diversity analysis-based Shannon-Wiener Index (S-W I).
As the results, tree appearance along sidewalks was found in 23 of 31 NCM roads with 1,556 trees, 171 tree species and total S-W I 28.029 (average 3.817). The highest index was seen on Phonlan Rd. while the lowest index was seen on 3 roads (Vatcharasarid Rd., Kudan Rd. and Det Udom Rd.). It has more significantly concluded that every 1 km2 on the sidewalk in NCM road may be found about 1 tree or without tree. This study will be benefits for NCM officers and policy makers who can plan green city and tree maintenance.
