ในบทความนี้ ได้ทำการศึกษานัยทั่วไปแบบหนึ่งของอัตราส่วนพื้นที่รูปหกเหลี่ยมต่อพื้นที่รูปสามเหลี่ยมใด ๆ ตามทฤษฎีบทของแมเรียน วอลเตอร์ โดยนำทฤษฎีบทชูเลซมาประยุกต์ใช้ในการหานัยทั่วไปของอัตราส่วนพื้นที่ดังกล่าว
