Abstract

This correlational research aimed to study the impact of Rain factors on the number of hand foot mouth disease patients in Nakhonratchasima province. The monthly data from January 2017 to December 2023, The monthly rain factors were collected from the Northeastern Meteorological Center (Lower Part). The monthly number of hand foot mouth disease patients were collected from National Disease Surveillance (Report 506) from Bureau of Epidermiology, Department of Diseases Control. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk test, Pearson correlation, and the general linear models. Processed with the jamovi statistical analysis software and GAMLj module - general linear models.

The results showed that the monthly number of hand foot mouth disease patients correlated with the number of rainny days, with Pearson correlation coefficient 0.449 (moderate level) with statistical significance p < .001. The general linear model analysis, the Quasi-Poisson model implied that when the rainniy day increases by 1 day, the monthly number of hand foot mouth disease patients in Nakhonratchasima province will increase by 1.09 times or 9 percent from the average.
