Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate factors which affect training duration of student pilots to complete the pilot training course. Numbers of instructors, aircrafts, student pilots, training areas and respective constraints are taken into accounts. Then the planning and scheduling method is used to allocate necessary resources of each training flight. The process is recurred until all student pilots acquire enough compulsory training flight hours. As a result, the insight of training process and factors are able to be captured. By optimizing these factors, the training duration can be reduced to meet the Air Force’s requirements.
