The Study and Development of Laboratory Kits of Optical Transmission using Broadband Network Fiber to the X
Main Article Content
Abstract
The purposes of this study were create and develop the Laboratory Kit of Optical Transmission using Broadband Network Fiber to the X for 16 Channel patterns. This kit consists of two experimental worksheets that show a test of optical signal transmission using a fiber optics tester (OTDR) to study each of the different events defined in accordance with the distance of the optical fiber which is displayed as a graph on the OTDR such as connection point with connecter, mechanical Splice, Fusion Splice, Macro Fiber Optic Bending and Planar Waveguide Circuit Splitter. The results present that this kit applies the learning achievement of students by showing the average score of 2.94 out of 10 on a pre-test and an average score of 9.63 after working on this kit. In conclusion, this demonstration kit can be used effectively for learning and teaching on Optical Communication theory.
