Study and development of micro hydro power electric plant in Thailand
Main Article Content
Abstract
Climate changed are mainly effect from the ignition of fossil fuel. The renewable sources of energy, such as wind, solar, tidal wave, and geothermal can provide a more sustainable. A possible solution for a number of instances is the implementation of micro-hydropower system. Not only micro hydro is a non-polluting energy source, but also it is much more efficient than the burning of fossil fuel or other renewable energy. In this article, a brief description of micro hydro power plant design procedure. The design procedure was use for construct the PHA PUNG micro hydroelectric project, TAK province; the design flow rate is 200 litre/sec and design head is 50 meter. The penstock pipe is made of PVC class 8.5. The penstock diameter is 500 millimeter. The diversion weir height 1.5 meter and 15 meter length. Select the turgo turbine 70 kW for generate the electricity. The project was successful by produce the electric power of 69.5 kW for the village.
