Knowledge-based System of Art and Culture in the Context of Folk Wisdom Case Study: Phatthalung Province

Abstract

Phatthalung is one of the southern provinces that continuously preserves the arts and culture of the province. Some explicit knowledge related to art and cultural is stored in a published format such as books or documents which are vulnerable to damage while others are tacit knowledge embedded in the person. This research presents the knowledge base website on art and culture of Phatthalung province which can be linked to the wisdom of the person using the following process: 1) knowledge create and acquisition; 2) knowledge organization; 3) knowledge improving and refinement for storing in a knowledge base; 4) knowledge access and sharing through a website developed with the PHP language and storing data in the MySQL. The results of the system testing by 30 users satisfaction evaluation showed that the satisfaction level were good. (4.21 of 5). The website can offer local wisdom information linked to the arts and culture of Phatthalung province through keyword searches or browsing form categories that meets the needs of the user.
