Abstract

The objective of this research is to develop the low-speed 3 phases synchronous generator with high force density permanent magnet, NdFeB N35 (PMSG). The results indicate that open circuit characteristics (O.C.C.) at a synchronous speed of 300 rpm, average voltage based on line phase to neutral of 531.47 V and line phase to line phase voltage of 921.00 V. Sinusoidal full wave with a frequency of 50.00 Hz are revealed the maximum cogging torque is 12.40 Nm and maximum torque is 468.40 Nm. The maximum power of generator is 6.26 kW and efficiency of 72.00 %. The result shows that low-speed synchronous generator with permanent magnet, NdFeB N35 can be wind power wind turbines or hydropower plants with high efficiency.
