Abstract

Global Positioning System (GPS) has been widely used in many fields. Today, millions of users rely on satellite navigation to find their way from one place to another place including searching for nearby current location such as – restaurants, petrol stations, garages, banks and more, especially for someone who is unfamiliar to new location. Therefore, the aim of this research is to propose a location-based mobile application to help users to search and access information about the garages in Phuket province according to the type of garage they require. This hybrid mobile application was developed based on a client-server architecture. It was implemented using Ionic Framework, Google Maps API, JSON, Cordova and Angular JS as the client side while PHP, JavaScript, CSS and MySQLi were implemented on the server side. We evaluated our system by examining user interface, validity, ease of use and satisfaction. The results showed that the overall assessment of this system is satisfied and can be deployed practically.
