People Participation in Hazardous Waste Management in Pa-payom District, Phatthalung Province

Abstract
This research is a survey research aimed to study the hazarded waste management processes of local administrative organization and community participation towards hazarded waste management of population. The samples of this study were sixteen staff who had responsibility in environmental work and 253 residence in the communities in Pa-payom district, Phatthalung province. These were purposive sampling. The data was collected from the residences by using questionnaire and then analyzed by using percentage and mean. The qualitative data was analyzed by content analysis and descriptive writing. The research results found that the people had the readiness to participate in community hazarded waste management at moderate level (average 2.84) and 38.24 percent were hazardous waste separation from the general waste. Therefore, the results can be used as guidelines in the formulation of policies, planning and management of hazardous waste, of local governments in the following areas.
