The 30 days of Sung Yod Phatthalung rice seedlings (Oryza sativa L.) were treated with oligochitosan O-5 (20, 40, 100, 500 and 1000 mgL-1) O-80 and SCS (40 and 500 mgL-1). The chitinase activity in leave of rice seedlings were evaluated after 1, 5 and 28 days of treatment. Efficiency of oligochitosan to elicit defense response induction was associated with the concentration and type of oligochitosans. The highest chitinase activities were observed within 5 days after oligochitosan treatment. The optimal condition for chitinase activation in rice seedling by using oligochitosan O-5 at 20-100 mgL-1 and treated every 2 week. The rice seedling growth could stimulate by treatment of 20-40 mgL-1 of oligochitosan O-5, O-80 and SCS.
