A Prototype of Adaptive Learning Support System in Topic of “Arithmetic Expressions Evaluation in C Programming”

Abstract

The objective of this research is to develop a prototype of adaptive learning support system in topic of “Arithmetic Expressions Evaluation in C Programming” using a flexible learning process environment for each student depends on his/her skill. The purposed system can automatically generate a set of the arithmetic expressions problems for the exercises, pretests and posttests which three levels of difficulty. It can verify the answers and shows step by step of how to evaluate the arithmetic expressions when students answer the wrong answers. The results of testing are using to provide the suitable content and tutorial file. This system was developed by PHP, JavaScript, CSS and MySQL. For a preliminary evaluation, was assessed using a questionnaire examining user interface, ease of use, validation and functional requirement. The result of the questionnaires showed that the efficiency of this system is satisfied and it is possible to deploy this system for our students practically.
