Abstract

CCD photometric observations of Contact Binary System V 701 Sco were operated, using robotic telescopes at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile. The data were collected during May - August 2013. Three epochs of the minimum light of the system were taken along with others compiled from the literatures were used to find the new ephemeris equation for compute O – C diagram. The downward parabolic variation of the O-C indicates a continuous period decrease. We found that the rate of the period decrease with the rate of 0.0173 - 0.0205 syr-1. Weak evidence shows that periodic oscillation is superimposed on this curve. This change can be explained by the presence of third body with period of 27 years and the mass M3 = 1.9 Msun. The PHOEBE software was used to compute the best system’s parameters. The solution shows that the system with q = 0.98. The temperature to be T1 = 23300 and T2 = 23100 K.
