Counselling Information System of Academic Advisor of Thaksin University

Abstract

This research aims to develop an information system supporting academic advisor system of Thaksin University. Functionality of the system is divided into five major subsystems: counselling scheduling, appointment, counselling recording, advisory evaluation and reporting. The system is developed using PHP, HTML, Javascript, CSS with MySQL database. Students will be able to make an appointment with respect to their advisor’s available time. An advisor can also make an appointment to individual or group students. The request will be informed to the other side via e-mail and require acceptance function. Counseling data will be recorded in the database instead of writing in the paper. Assessment report can be used for improving the counseling methods. The performance report of advisors can be used as a reference report in the quality assurance system of the university.
