Abstract

Preparing for university entrance examinations is a normal activity that schools often provide their students. The activity allows the students to take practice tests, often in the form of paper which can cause many usage problems and limitations in terms of available time and location. Moreover, storing, retrieving, analyzing, and individual evaluating processes are difficult. This research applies Moodle to design and build a test repository system for the university entrance exam preparation activity. This system can be used as a source of knowledge via a network connection. There are test questions, solutions and explanations. The test results can be sent to the instructor. Thus, the instructor can use such information to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each student in order to advise each student. The prototype system is developed and evaluated on a sample set of possible users including the school administrative, the instructor, and the students. The results show that the satisfaction level is excellent. The suggestions include adding a self-learning module and the answer explanation.
