Supportive Management and Proactive Health Promoting Implementation among Health Volunteers in Khaochaison District, Phattalung Province

Abstract

The descriptive cross-sectional study was to investigate association between supportive management and proactive health promoting implementation among health volunteers in Khaochaison District, Phattalung Province. Of these, 198 samples were selected by simple random sampling. The data was gathered in November, 2014 using questionnaire which was developed by researcher and literature review. Index of Item-objective Congruence was between 0.06 – 1.00 and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.96. The main result found that supportive management score (Mean ± S.D., 3.99 ± 0.60) and proactive health promoting implementation score (4.31 ± 0.62) were rated at high level. It was a significantly moderate association between supportive management and proactive health promoting implementation among health volunteers (r = 0.310, p - value < 0.001). The results suggested that health personnel should continuously encourage and support the management activities to promote the proactive health promoting implementation.
