Risk Perception and Risk Prevention and Control Behaviors Among Laundry Workers in Community Hospital

Abstract
This cross-sectional survey aimed to explore risk perception and risk prevention and control behaviors among laundry workers in community Hospital. Sample consisted of 140 laundry workers from the community hospitals in the area of the 6th Health sector, Ministry of Public Health. They were selected by purposive sampling due to specific job characteristics. Content validity was approved by three experts in occupational health and safety. The reliability of alpha cronbach’s coefficient was 0.8. Descriptive statistics was used in data analysis. The results showed health problems, 18.6% had an accident or have been diagnosed with the illness from work in the past year, and 5.7% muscle pain, especially arm and shoulder pain. Moreover, the results revealed less than 3.6% of sample had been fell down due to slippery floor during washing process. They almost had perception on risk and risk prevention and control behaviors at a high level, 60.7 and 47.9%, respectively.
