Abstract
The objectives of this study were to examine the socio-economic, physical and psychological factors affecting administrators opinions concerning implementing the Agricultural Education Reform for life Project, to find out problems and obstacles in the project and to investigate the administrator'srecommendations for the project. The studied sample was 205 administrators in all agricultural and technological colleges in Thailand. Out of the 205 questionnaires used to gather data, 183 questionnaires were responded.
From this study it can be seen that most respondents were males, with an average of 47.3 years. The majority of respondents had completed a Masterûs degree, in agriculture and held a position of educational assistant administrator. The period of administration was between 1-12.7 years. They did not obtain payment from the project during the period of implementing the Agricultural Education Reform of life Project, which ranged from 2.3 to 4.5 years.
In terms of physical factors, 92.3% did not have difficulty commuting from their residences to their colleges. In addition, they agreed that the locations of the colleges were moderately appropriate and very appropriate. With regard to psychological factors, 60.7% had high motivation while 39.3% had below average motivation.
The result of statistical analysis showed that the administrators having different job position will have significant difference with opinions concerning the Agricultural Education Reform for life Project. Moreover, three independent factors : motivation, the amount of participation in seminar and salary of administrators were statistically significant correlation with opinions towards implementing the project. And the stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that three factors : motivation, salary and the amount of participation in seminar were highly significant affecting administrators opinions concerning the Agricultural Reform for life Project .
In relation to administrative problems, the respondents stated that high level disagreed with supervising students as a special duty because of the unbalanced payment. Moreover, they did not punctually receive the budget, and expenses were insufficient to cover increased prices at the present time. Problems with students included inattention, lack of responsibility, opposition to regulations and the different levels of students background. These make managing equal education difficult.
The suggestions from the researcher are that colleges should prepare residence, areas for agricultural projects, public utility system, irrigation system and reservoir at least two weeks before the colleges open, and teachers as well as administrators should be role models and cultivate virtues and morals to students. Administratorsû opinions towards the Agricultural Education Reform for life Project should be considered as information to help improve the project. Additionally, more seminars should help administrators better understand the project, make more success in implementing the project that help develop beneficial agricultural workers. The result of statistical analysis showed that there was a statistically significant correlation between four independent factors : motivation, job position, salary and the amount of participation in seminar with opinions towards implemention the project. And the stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that three factors : motivation, salary and the amount of participation in seminar were highly singificant affection adminstratorsû opinions concerning the Agricultural Education Reform for life Project.
