Crytal and Molecular Structures of two epimers of N-cyclopropylmethyl- [7,3']-dihydro-2'-furanone - 6,14, -endo-ethenotetrahydrothebaine

Abstract

The slructures of two opioids derivatived from thebaine have been determined by single crystal X-ray crystallographic mcthods. Epimer I ofN -cyclopropylmethyl-[?, s']-dihydro-2 -furanone- 6,14, -?ndo-ethenotetrahydrolhe baine, crystallized in monoclinic system having space group p21 etith a = ?.645(2), b = 9.319(14), c = rO.ozo(s) A and B = 103.a(2). Epimer II crystallized in orrhorhombic sysrem having space group Pzppl with a = ?.948(l), b = r6.652(3), c= 16.661(r) A. the two epimers have opposite stereochemistry at the spirojunction ofring H.In otherrespects the molecular structures are similar.
