ข้อควรระวังในการใช้ Chi-square Test ในงานวิจัยทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์สุขภาพ

Abstract

         การวิเคราะห์ทางสถิติเป็นสิ่งที่จำเป็นสำหรับการสรุปผลงานวิจัยขั้นพื้นฐานในศาสตร์การวิจัยทางด้าน วิทยาศาสตร์สุขภาพและศาสตร์แขนงอื่นๆ การวิเคราะห์ทางสถิติที่ถูกต้องเป็นสิ่งสำคัญที่จะนำไปสู่การสรุปผลที่น่า เชื่อถือและการอ้างอิงสู่กลุ่มประชากรที่ทำการศึกษา ปัจจุบันในงานวิจัยต่างๆ พบว่ายังมีบางส่วนที่มีการใช้สถิติในการ วิเคราะห์ที่ไม่ถูกต้อง ซึ่งส่งผลต่อการนำเสนอผลและการอภิปรายผลในการวิจัยนั้น และเป็นการลดความน่าเชื่อถือของ งานวิจัยชิ้นนั้นลงได้ การใช้ Chi-square test มักนิยมใช้ในการทดสอบความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างตัวแปรชนิดแจงนับ และ มักนิยมใช้ไม่ถูกต้อง ในบทความนี้เป็นการกล่าวถึงการใช้ Chi-square test ในการทดสอบ และการเลือกใช้ที่เหมาะสม เพื่อนำไปสู่ความถูกต้องของการนำเสนอผลและการอภิปรายต่อไป 

           Well known that statistical analysis is very important to summarize the result of research in both health science and others. The correct choice of statistical analysis leads to a correct conclusion and inference about the population under study. At the present, it is found that there are some mistakes on statistical methods that lead to misinterpretation and wrong conclusion. Chi-square test is often used to test the association between two categorical variables. Hence, the appropriate statistical methods are performed for the accuracy of interpretation and conclusion.
