Use the AJSTR OJS portal to submit your manuscript. You will need to register for a free account if you do not already have one.
🚀 Go to OJS Submission Portal →All correspondence including editorial decisions and revision requests will be sent to your registered email and accessible via your author homepage in OJS.
🆕 New to OJS? Register for a free author account at the ThaiJo registration page. Once registered, log in and click "New Submission" to begin. The online system eliminates the need for paper-based submission and tracks the status of your manuscript at every stage.
Submission Steps
Confirm your manuscript fits AJSTR's scope (Agricultural & Biological Sciences, Engineering & Environmental Technology, Computer Science, or related fields). Review the Author Guidelines to ensure your manuscript meets all formatting, word count, and reference requirements.
- Max 10,000 words for research articles (including references)
- Max 12,000 words for review articles
- ACS reference style — numbered in square brackets [1]
- Abstract ≤ 250 words, structured (Background → Methods → Results → Conclusions)
Prepare all files before starting the online submission. The Main Manuscript must contain no author-identifying information for double-blind review.
- File 1 (Required): Main Manuscript (.docx) — no author names, affiliations, or acknowledgements
- File 2 (Required): Title Page (.docx) — all author details, affiliations, CRediT contributions, funding, acknowledgements, conflicts of interest
- File 3 (Recommended): Cover Letter (.docx or .pdf)
- File 4 (If applicable): Ethical approval letter
- File 5 (If applicable): Supplementary data or figures
⚠ All figures must also be submitted as individual TIFF or JPEG files in addition to being embedded in the manuscript.
Log in to the OJS portal. From your author dashboard, click "New Submission" and follow the 5-step online submission process:
- Step 1: Start — select section (Research Article or Review Article) and confirm checklists
- Step 2: Upload Submission — upload all files in the correct order
- Step 3: Enter Metadata — title, abstract, keywords, authors (with ORCID if available)
- Step 4: Confirmation — review your submission details
- Step 5: Submit — receive confirmation email with your manuscript ID
After submission, all correspondence — including editorial decisions, reviewer comments, and revision requests — will be sent to your registered email address and accessible through your author dashboard. You do not need to contact the editorial office to check the status of your manuscript.
- Initial evaluation: 1–3 business days
- First editorial decision: approximately 4 weeks
- Minor revision deadline: 2 weeks
- Major revision deadline: 4 weeks
- Acceptance → publication: 2–4 weeks
Submission Files
Upload your files in the OJS submission portal. The required and recommended files are listed below. Do not combine the Main Manuscript and Title Page into a single file — they must remain separate for the double-blind review process.
📄 Use the AJSTR Manuscript Template to prepare your Main Manuscript — it is pre-formatted with the correct font, margins, heading structure, and ACS reference style.
Submission Checklist
Work through this checklist before submitting. Each item that is not met will result in your manuscript being returned without a formal review decision.
Research: ≤10,000 words | Review: ≤12,000 words (both including references)
Main Manuscript must contain NO author information. Title Page contains all author details.
No names, affiliations, funding, acknowledgements, or revealing self-citations in the main file
Background → Methods → Results → Conclusions (without explicit section headings)
Relevant to the field; avoid overly broad terms
In-text: [1], [1–3]; all in English; DOI included where available
Named Figure_1.jpg etc.; scale bar included where applicable
No vertical lines; caption above; footnotes below
Author Contributions (CRediT) + Funding + Conflicts of Interest
Simultaneous submission to multiple journals is a violation of publication ethics
Cover Letter Requirements
A cover letter from the corresponding author is strongly recommended with every submission. It helps the editor assess the manuscript quickly and assign appropriate reviewers. The cover letter should be uploaded as a separate file.
1–2 sentences describing the research question, main method, and key finding
Specify: Research Article, Review Article, or other type
Confirm the manuscript has not been previously published and is not currently under review at any other journal
Confirm all listed authors have read and approved the final version of the manuscript
Up to 3–5 names with institution affiliation and email. Reviewers must not have a conflict of interest with any author and must be from different institutions.
⚠ Note: The current Submission page requires authors to suggest reviewers in the cover letter. AJSTR will consider these suggestions but is not obliged to use them. Reviewers must be from institutions different from the corresponding author.
Author Ethics & Responsibilities
All authors submitting to AJSTR accept responsibility for adhering to the following ethical principles. AJSTR follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Originality & No Plagiarism
All submitted work must be original and not previously published. Plagiarism in any form — including content copied from other sources without proper citation — is strictly prohibited. iThenticate is used for screening; similarity >30% leads to desk rejection.
Authorship Integrity
All individuals who contributed significantly to the research must be listed as authors. Ghost authorship and gift authorship are violations of publication ethics.
Data Integrity
Accurate and reliable data must be presented. Data manipulation, fabrication, selective reporting, and image manipulation are unacceptable and will result in rejection or retraction.
Conflicts of Interest
Disclose any financial or personal relationships that may influence the research. All funding sources must be declared. If none: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."
Human & Animal Subjects
Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with relevant ethical guidelines and obtain approval from the relevant ethics board. Informed consent must be obtained where applicable.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Properly acknowledge the work of others with appropriate citations. Obtain permission for copyrighted material. Do not fabricate or misrepresent references.
Peer Review Respect
Respond to reviewers' comments professionally and transparently. Provide accurate information throughout the review process.
No Duplicate Submission
Do not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously. Do not publish the same work twice (duplicate publication). Prior conference proceedings must be clearly disclosed.
Errors & Corrections
If significant errors are discovered after publication, promptly contact the journal editor and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions as appropriate.
Compliance with Field Ethics
Adhere to ethical guidelines specific to your research field as set by professional associations or regulatory bodies.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. There is no submission fee. An Article Processing Charge (APC) of ฿4,000 Thai Baht (US$150) is only charged after your manuscript has been accepted for publication. Authors are informed of this at the time of acceptance.
AJSTR publishes research in three main areas: (1) Agricultural and Biological Sciences, (2) Engineering and Environmental Technology, and (3) Computer Science and Applied Technology. If your manuscript falls within one of these areas, it is likely in scope. If you are unsure, contact the editorial office at aseanjstr@tsu.ac.th before submitting.
The average time from submission to first editorial decision is approximately 4 weeks (1 month). Once accepted, the average time from acceptance to online publication is 2–4 weeks. These are averages — individual manuscripts may take longer depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.
AJSTR uses double-blind peer review, meaning reviewers do not know who the authors are. The Main Manuscript file (sent to reviewers) must contain no author information. The Title Page file (kept by editors) contains all author details. Manuscripts that include author information in the main file will be returned for correction — this is not counted as a formal rejection.
A manuscript based on conference proceedings may be submitted only if it has been substantially extended (typically at least 30% new content) and the original conference paper is explicitly cited. Please disclose the conference paper in your cover letter. Duplicate publications without substantial new content will be rejected.
Manuscripts with a similarity score exceeding 30% (as detected by iThenticate) are rejected at the initial evaluation stage without external peer review. Authors are encouraged to check their own manuscript for similarity before submitting. Note: similarity from your own properly cited prior publications may be negotiable — contact the editorial office if concerned.
The APC is only due after your manuscript is accepted. Payment details (bank transfer to Government Savings Bank, Papayom Branch) will be provided in your acceptance notification email. After payment, please email proof of transfer to aseanjstr@tsu.ac.th with your manuscript ID.
Yes. You may suggest up to 5 potential reviewers in your cover letter (name, institution, email). Suggested reviewers must have no conflict of interest with any author and must be from different institutions. You may also request that specific individuals be excluded from reviewing your manuscript. The editor will consider these requests but is not obligated to follow them.
