Abstract

This study is to investigate the effect of using different covering materials on heat diffusion through the building wall. The study considers four types of brick, namely Clay brick, block brick, light-weight brick with = 620 Kg/m3 and light-weight brick with = 700 Kg/m3.  Then the behaviour of heat-transfer from outer boundary through building wall is examined for cases with different covering materials. The partial differential equation of heat diffusion is solved by using method of line. This investigation will give a clearer understanding of reduction of heat transfer through building wall by using covering materials. This understanding will benefit for future building design and construction.
