Production line efficiency improvement: The case study of powder product packing line

Abstract
This research objective is to improve production line efficiency for the case study of powder production packing line. The research adapts the principle of motion and time study, process analyzing by Man-Machine Chart, Left-Right hand Chart in conjunction with ECRS principle, including designing the tools to assist the operation. The result of research implementation shows that the powder production packing line after the improvement has been reduced the cycle time from 33.61 seconds to 25.88 seconds or has been reduced about 23.00 percent. Yield per day has been increased from 214 boxes to 278 boxes or has been increased about 29.91 percent. Workforce has been reduced by 3 persons. Moreover, the line balancing efficiency has
been improved from 44.57 percent to 83.85 percent or has been improved about 39.28 percent.
